“The Splendor of Mount Heng——Wei Chia-Ying” and “The Spirit of Jingguan——Yan Ann-Li” Joint Exhibition

Wei Chia-Ying and Yan Ann-Li, both awarded the first prize in the art competitions, showcase their distinctive styles. Wei’s landscape paintings draw inspiration from blue-and-green technique of the Ming Dynasty’s Wu School, characterized by verdant hues, rooted in the meticulous precision of Song and Yuan dynasty painting. Yan, on the other hand, incorporates elements from the precise and grandiose panoramic landscapes of Jing Hao and Guan Tong of the Five Dynasties and Northern Song Dynasty, along with influences from the late Ming Wu School, particularly from Lan Ying.

Both artists navigate a path of blending traditional methods with contemporary insights, aiming to convey the essence of “broadly studying the various schools of antiquity, assimilating their achievements, and giving birth to innovation”. Their joint exhibition by these two emerging artists will be held at the Grand Hall on the third floor of Taipei Marriott Hotel. All are welcome to attend and offer their insights.
